A Harrop Eaton ELocker egy elektromágnessel 100% -osan záró differenciálmű, nem igényel kompresszort vagy levegő vezetékeket és egy elektromos kapcsolóval aktiválhatja a vezető. A differenciálmű belsejében a szabadalmaztatott Eaton fogaskerekek dolgoznak,melyek kovácsolt és rendkívül erős 4 bolygókerék kialakításúak. A Harrop Eaton ELocker egyszerű zárási mechanizmussal rendelkezik és lehetővé teszi az első és a hátsó tengely független 100% reteszelését.

Az Eaton precíziós kovácsolt fogaskerekeinek felhasználásával tervezett, nagy igénybevételre szánt, a gyári fogaskerekekhez képest nagyobb szilárdságot és tartósságot biztosító eLockereket kifejezetten terepjáró autókhoz tervezték, és 3 év gyártói garanciát vállalnak rá.
Miért jobb mint a sürített levegővel működő differenciál zárak?
- Az ELocker egy elektromos billenő kapcsolót használ a műszerfalba építve, amely közvetlenül egy mágnestekercset vezérel a differeciálműben, amely egy kapcsoló gyűrűt mozgat rugók ellenében, ez az oldalsó fogaskerékbe csatlakozik és ezzel lezárja a differenciálművet.
-Az eLocker legfőbb előnye - a szokásos 12 voltos áramforráson kívül nincs szükség külső áramforrásra, és a működéséhez nincs szükség légkompresszorra, mint a levegős záraknál. Ezáltal a működtetése sokkal egyszerűbb, kevesebb meghibásodási lehetőséggel.
-Az E-Locker sokkal megbízhatóbb és gyakorlatilag kopó alkatrész nélkül működik!
Bekapcsolható az ELocker menet közben?
-Technikailag az ELocker menet közben is bekapcsolható, azonban figyelni kell arra, hogy a kerékfordulatszám-különbség (a jobb és a bal kerék között) 50 fordulat/perc alatt maradjon. Ezért ajánlott, hogy a vezető csak akkor kapcsolja be az ELockert, ha a jármű sebessége 5 km/h alatt van.
-Bár az ELockereket komoly igénybevételre tervezték, a folyamatos visszaélés és a szélsőséges sebesség bekapcsolása jelentősen lerövidíti az ELocker élettartamát, és erre nem vonatkozik a garancia.
-Amikor az ELocker bekapcsol, azonnal megpróbálja a kerekek sebességét rögzíteni és összehangolni, és ennek eredményeként a differenciálműnek azonnal fel kell gyorsítania a lassú sebességű kereket, a féltengelyt a fékalkatrészek és a kerekek tömegét a szabadon forgó kerékkel azonos sebességre.
-Ez nem csak a differenciálműre, hanem a tengelytengelyre is hihetetlenül nagy hatással van.
